Book of Preludes: 1-15 for Piano

Over the years, I have been writing expressive character pieces for solo piano. The Book of Preludes: 1-15 for Piano is a collection of “Neo-Romantic” works which resemble the short, evocative pieces of Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy, but possess elements of later styles such as new-age, jazz and avant-garde. The first prelude was composed shortly after the new millennium with the 15th and final prelude completed on October 8, 2013.

Jazz-Fusion Compositions

One of my favorite activities has been writing contemporary jazz-fusion works arranged for keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and percussion. Thanks to the many years of exposure to such instruments, I was able to conceive, perform or program virtually every sound in these recordings. Seven excerpts are presented below. If you would like me to release the complete recordings, drop me a note and let me know. I may do it!

Music Collaborations

Studio City Lifestyle Magazine publisher Barry Wise is also a poet/songwriter who enjoys having his lyrics and melodies turned into musical tracks. One of my longest music collaborations has been with Barry, along with award-winning co-writer, Deedee O’Malley. I’ve taken their musical sketches from concept to completion. “I have known Barry Wehrli for years and love working with him” says Wise.
